Below is the position of STYSA and US Soccer
regarding the rule about sleeveless jerseys. If you have any
questions, please contact me at
www.administrator@timberlinesoccer.org
"...both FIFA and
US Soccer realized they were behind the purchasing deadlines for us.
Since they did not intend to cause the hundreds of thousands of youth
players to spend money on repurchasing uniforms, but wanted to be sure
we don't spend money on replacements either, this time delay will allow
for compliance without financial penalty
The requirement
that "jerseys must have sleeves" is intended to deter player efforts
to alter their jersey in any way.". and
"...since this
is not a safety issue, a team or an individual player must not be
prevented from playing solely for this reason",
and
"...we
ask that you use common sense and good judgment on the application of
this rule change."
